Title: SeaHeel
Description: Hand built using slabs, pinch and coil methods. The shoe was pinched, and the waves were carved into the top shoe, the bottom part of the shoe was build separately with slabs. The octopus was pinched and coiled and added into the bottom Glass was hand cut by student and glued in the oval openings. LED lights were added to the bottom of the show, so when it was put together light shown down into the shoe on o the octopus. This sculpture is to draw attention to the fact that pollution is killing our coral reefs and the octopus is taking refuge in the shoe. The total fantasy shoe and octopus was hand painted using room temperature glaze( acrylic paint) with glitter added for effect
