Reilly Deller is a ceramic artist and teacher located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She received her BFA in ceramic art and BA in Art Education from the University of Kentucky. Reilly was introduced to K-12 Clay through her undergraduate professor and 2023 juror, Bobby Scroggins. Reilly’s body of work is rooted in art therapy and feminism where she appropriates imagery through old magazines, focusing on misogynistic advertisements. Reilly layers intrusive thoughts or passing phrases she has collected and thought of over time. Her work has been featured in The Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, The Oglebay Institute Fine Arts Center in Wheeling, West Virginia, Touchstone Center for Craft in Farmington, Pennsylvania, and more. Reilly’s favorite thing about the National K-12 Ceramic Exhibition Foundation is the community that is gained through creativity and clay and the dedication of the students.
