FOUNDER / TRUSTEE -
Steven Branfman is a founding and current board member of the National K-12 Ceramic Exhibition Foundation. He received his MAT from Rhode Island School Of Design in 1975, is the founder and director of The Potters Shop & School in Needham MA, and teaches ceramics at Thayer Academy in Braintree MA. Branfman is a world recognized expert in the art of Raku and the author of Mastering Raku: Making Ware-Glazes-Building Kilns-Firing, Raku: A Practical Approach First and Second Editions, and The Potters Professional Handbook. and writes frequently for international craft journals and pottery magazines. His Raku ware is in major museum collections in the USA and abroad and he is a popular workshop presenter having done over 150 presentations in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
